Most productivity tools measure motion — tasks completed, checkboxes ticked, velocity points earned. Syncopate measures something harder: are you figured out?
Each morning, you review your scopes and decide which ones need attention. You write lightweight tasks under those scopes, work through them, and update your confidence. Tomorrow’s tasks don’t exist yet — they emerge from tomorrow’s review.
Shape Up for Individuals
Syncopate is the individual half of the Shape Up operating system. Merrily handles team-level betting tables, cycles, and pitches. Syncopate handles what you actually do each day.
The bridge is the hill chart. When you drag a scope’s position in Syncopate, it pushes to Merrily. Your team sees honest progress signals without asking for status updates.
Your Data Stays With You
Syncopate is a Tauri application. Everything lives in a local SQLite database synced via Automerge CRDTs. No server, no account, no sync requirement. Install it, use it, done.
Daily notes often contain sensitive context: meeting notes, personal reflections, strategic thinking. None of that should live on someone else’s server.
